Welcome to My Blog! + Tips! :D

Hey beautifuls!

I just wanted to take some time out of the day to say welcome to my fitness blog!

KEEP GOING! As hard as it gets just keep going and the reason I say this is because I've been trying the past month to get into a routine of eating right and being healthy with myself and to my body.

I know it's not easy to neglect foods you want, crave, and love. And I know it's not easy to exercise when you just want to be on the computer but keep at it! With that being said I have a few tips that I follow that can help some of you out there trying to get fit! I'm not taking personal credit for these since some have been on other sites like Pinterest, other blogs, etc!

I know what you're thinking "A fat girl giving me diet tips, really?" Let me correct that cause I'm sure many people think this. I'm NOT fat. I'm normal. It just so happens I have fat that doesn't go to the right places...ladies we all know the feeling. But here are my tips to help you in your fitness journey!

TIPS:
  1. Drink water. - The one we've all heard before but it really works, seriously. I hate the taste of water but it helps when you want to lose weight and curb an appetite!
  2. Portions! - MUY IMPORTANTE! This is usually where I personally go wrong. Veggies and other sides should be the size of your fist I believe and meats should be double that. I might be wrong on that but that's what I learned in health class!
  3. Eat Small Meals with Variety! Eating one big meal a day and the rest being nothing or small usually isn't good for you. Eating small meals makes you feel more full and you feel like your constantly eating instead of feeling hungry and that's usually where many slip. (Including myself!) Also include a couple foods per meal. For ex. For breakfast I'd eat a greek yogurt/yoplait light yogurt and a mango or banana. Maybe some grapefruit juice or coffee. Feeling full is better than going hungry!
  4. Learn about Fat Burning Foods! - I have to thank JLovesMac1 for this with her 'Sexy Loser' videos. I looked on google and found a whole list of fat burning foods! It's not necessarily a list you need to eat off constantly but including at least 1-2 of those foods a day can increase how much fat you burn!
  5. Exercise 30 mins a day or Every Other! - A MUST! There's no loss without a little work right? There's a lot of workouts I found on YouTube that are easy to follow and Pinterest always has great strength training exercises too! I use an app called 'Nexercise' which tracks how your body moves so you can get points and earn rewards! Talk about good motivation!
  6. FOOD DIARY! - Again, JLovesMac1 knows what she's talking about! RECORD EVERYTHING! LITERALLY! It has helped me a lot with this app called, 'My Fitness Pal' Which helps you track all the food you eat and the calorie intake. I personally try to keep my calories under 2000 a day.
  7. Have a Cheat Day! - We all need one once in a while, like Sunday Funday for example. Mine is now Saturdays since my David and I like to go out to dinner or eat fast food. That's my day to indulge! BUT NOT TOO MUCH! <-- Sometimes if you have a cheat day it can be hard to go back to your current eating routine, or lead to losing the diet altogether! STAY MOTIVATED!
  8. Make a DREAM BOARD/POSTER! - I Instagramed my dream posters and it helps you stay motivated when it comes to losing weight or what you want to accomplish in your life. It's helped me so much!
  9. HAVE GOALS! - If you want to lose a certain amount of weight like me, this is amazing! For EX. I would make a chart with -10 lbs, -20 lbs, etc. and write a reward for myself next to it when I lose said amount of weight! So for me once I lose -10 lbs I can eat a small ice cream cone, etc., that sort of thing! :D
  10. Don't deprieve yourself! - If you want that cookie, have a cookie. But ONE cookie. Not TEN! I let myself have something but in small amounts like a cookies or chips. Small amount goes a LONG way. Or even better find something else that will satisfy that craving! Lately I personally haven't been having cravings for cookies or chips, it must be the power of healthy eating!
I hope these tips helped you guys in some way and I love you all!
Fitness posts coming daily! :D (This above one was from March but I never posted it til now!)

Love,
Sam
